Monarch, Utah

Monarch is a small community north of Montwell and west of Neola in Duchesne County. It was named by Lee Brown, a local woman, who said the town would be the “monarch of all it surveyed.”

Monarch is part of the Neola First Ward in the Roosevelt West Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Schools

Monarch’s school kids attend elementary in Neola and junior high and high school in Roosevelt. The community is located in the Duchesne County School District.

Government, Public & Emergency Services

Monarch is part of the Cedarview-Montwell Special Service District and Neola Community Park District. The Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office covers law enforcement in the area. Fire service is provided by the Neola Fire Department.

Parks & Recreation

Monarch has a small cemetery. The Neola Community Park is located a few miles away.
