Where Does This Site's Name Come From?
This media venture is named after the Uintah Special Meridian in reference to the geographic area it covers.
Is It Uinta or Uintah?
You may have noticed the different spellings on this site and in other places. It's not a mistake. The general rule is that Uinta refers to naturally occuring features, while Uintah is used for man-made entities, according to a Deseret News article. It's the Uinta River, Basin or Mountains and Uintah Basin Telephone Association, Uintah and Ouray Reservation or Uintah County. Of course, there are exceptions like Uinta County, Wyoming.
Uintah Meridian, BLLC, doing business as Uintah Meridian, is a Utah-registered benefit limited liability company. A BLLC is a type of LLC formed with a stated goal of creating a positive impact for the community and the environment while also being profitable. Utah BLLCs also must publish an annual benefit report measured against a third-party standard.
