Boneta, Utah

Boneta is located west of Altamont along Utah State Route 87 in Duchesne County. To the north lies Mountain Home, and further west is Talmage. Boneta was settled in 1907 and named for the Spanish word “bonita,” meaning beautiful.

The Kinder Morgan Altamont natural gas liquids plant, in Boneta, processes 80 million cubic feet per day of natural gas, condensing out 4,000 barrels per day of liquid byproducts (from the methane natural gas) and separating them into propane, butane and C5+.

Quilts N Fabrics, on 18750 W. (head south from the natural gas plant), sells fabric in-shop and online. It also offers in-person quilting classes and open sewing.

Churches

Boneta is home to the Latter-day Saint meetinghouse for Boneta, Talmage, Mountain Home and parts of Altonah. It’s part of the Altamont Utah Stake.

Schools

Boneta's students attend school at Altamont elementary and high school as part of the Duchesne County School District.
