Cedarview, Utah

Cedarview is a scattered community, located in Duchesne County, along the Neola Highway, halfway between Roosevelt and Neola. Cedarview shares connections with Crescent, Montwell and Monarch. Cedarview was once a fledgling town with stores, blacksmith shops, two schools, a post office, a creamery and a ward house. It's named for the juniper-covered hills it overlooks.

Community Life

Cedarview is located about six miles north of Roosevelt and the same distance south of Neola. Cedarview's proximity to Roosevelt is one reason the once-promising town faded away. The buildings from the old townsite are gone, but the townsite is commemorated by a roadside sign west of the Cedarview turnoff.

Churches

Cedarview Latter-day Saints attend the Roosevelt 7th Ward, with its chapel in Neola. The ward is part of the Roosevelt West Stake.

Schools

Cedarview students attend elementary school in Neola and junior high and high school in Roosevelt as part of the Duchesne County School District.

Community Resources & Public Services

Government, Public & Emergency Services

The Cedarview-Montwell Special Service District provides culinary water service to the area. The community is served by the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office and the Roosevelt Fire Department.

Parks & Recreation

The Cedarview Cemetery is located off the Neola Highway, north of the Cedarview turnoff.
